Benedict College Offers Admission to 15 Students from UNCF Schools

COLUMBIA, S.C.

Benedict College has offered admission to 15 students from Xavier and Dillard University, college President David H. Swinton announced.

“As an institution, we extend our heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the victims of this devastating tragedy,” Dr. Swinton said. “At Benedict, we have always been committed to public service and helping our communities and we will do the same for our fellow Americans who are suffering in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama’s Gulf Coast region,” he added.

Benedict offers to accept up to 15 currently enrolled full-time students, majoring in physics and /or whose home residence is located in the Midlands region of South Carolina. The college will offer free room and reduced tuition to qualified students.

Students seeking Fall 2005 enrollment will be offered classes immediately, or allowed to begin classes during the second half of the semester.
