Man Shot on Morgan State Campus

BALTIMORE – Authorities say a man who was shot in the student center on the campus of Morgan State University is in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

The unidentified man, who is not a Morgan student, was shot about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday on the northeast Baltimore campus. Police say the gunman is still at large.

Morgan spokesman Clint Coleman told The Baltimore Sun that the shooting was “not random,” adding that the victim and suspect likely knew each other.

The campus was briefly on lockdown. An alert posted on Morgan State’s website at 6:11 p.m. called an all clear, although evening classes were canceled. A police tactical team searched the student center and did not find the gunman.
