Professional Appointments

Dr. Brian K. Johnson has been named president of Montgomery College (Md.). He was most recently CEO of the Allegheny Campus of the Community College of Allegheny County. He holds a bachelor’s from Ottawa University and a master’s and doctorate from Northern Arizona University.

Dr. Mark Edwards has been named to the new position of director for diversity and community at the University of Idaho. He holds an associate from Seminole State College, a bachelor’s from East Central University, a master’s from the University of Oklahoma and a doctorate from South Dakota State University.

Dr. Randall Caroline Forsberg has been named the first holder of the Anne and Bernard Spitzer Chair in Political Science at the City College of New York. She is the founder and director of the Institute for Defense and Disarmament Studies. Forsberg earned a bachelor’s at Columbia University and a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

John H. Hurley, currently vice president for college relations at Canisius College (N.Y.), has been promoted to executive vice president. He holds a bachelor’s from Canisius and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

Dr. Mary Oling-Sisay has been appointed vice president for student life at St. Norbert College (Wis.). She holds a bachelor’s from Makerere University in Uganda, a master’s from Fordham University and a doctorate from the University of Southern California.

Kal Raustiala has been named director of the Ronald W. Burkle Center for International Relations at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a professor in UCLA’s law school and its International Institute. Raustiala holds a bachelor’s from Duke University, a doctorate from the University of California, San Diego and a law degree from Harvard University.

Laura Uribarri has been named director of MBA programs at the University of Texas at El Paso. She was most recently the senior government affairs representative for El Paso Electric Company. Uribarri earned a bachelor’s from Stanford University and a master’s from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Melodye Wehrung has been appointed director of social equity at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. She was most recently director of equal opportunity programs and compliance at Harvard University. She holds a bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate from Southern Illinois University and an MPA from Harvard.

Katherine E. White has been named associate dean of the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School (Va.). She earned a bachelor’s from Princeton University, a law degree from the University of Washington and an LL.M. from George Washington University National Law Center.
