Professional Appointments

DR. VENKAT ALLADA has been appointed vice provost of graduate studies at the University of Missouri-Rolla. He earned a bachelor’s from the University of Bombay in India, a master’s from the Indian Institute of Technology and a doctorate from the University of Cincinnati.

DR. GEORGE E. ROSS has been named president of Alcorn State University (Miss.). He was most recently vice president for finance and administrative services at Central Michigan University. Ross holds a bachelor’s and master’s from Michigan State University and a doctorate from the University of Alabama.

DR. SHIRLEY RAMIREZ has been named dean of institutional diversity at Middlebury College (Vt.). She was most recently executive vice president for the Posse Foundation. Ramirez earned a bachelor’s from Vanderbilt University and a doctorate from Duke University.

DR. MELODY L. CARTER has been named vice president for external affairs and executive director for the Fort Valley State University Foundation (Ga.). She had served in an interim capacity. Carter earned a bachelor’s and master’s from Buffalo State College and a doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  

DR. DANIEL A. WUBAH has been named associate provost for undergraduate affairs at the University of Florida. Wubah earned a bachelor’s from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, a master’s from the University of Akron and a doctorate from the University of Georgia.
