Field hockey player Mia Gordon from Miami University has a 3.9 GPA and is studying strategic communications and women’s and gender studies. The Miami field hockey team won every conference title available in the four years of Gordon’s collegiate career. A consummate teammate, her efforts off the field impacted her team’s positive attitude and performance. The team is diverse, and Gordon made sure all nationalities were respected and valued. She and two teammates compiled an electronic library full of books, articles, movie links, and documentaries they shared with the athletic department to ensure everyone was aware of social justice issues and initiatives.
