Isaiah Holmes exemplifies the true meaning of studentathlete. He strives to be the best in the classroom, on the track, and in the community. He brings out the best in all that know him, and he leads by example,” says Amy Deem, director of track and field and cross country at University of Miami. Holmes has a master’s degree in sports administration and is currently working toward earning an MBA. He set the program high jump and long jump indoor records this year and holds the program’s outdoor high jump record. Holmes has put in over 100 volunteer hours in less than two years at the university. He is an executive board member for the Black Student-Athlete Alliance and for the SAAC.
